Monarto zoo...

23 February 2009

Yesterday we had a lovely family day.....

All of my family met up at Monarto zoo.... it had been quite awhile since we were all together in the one place.....so Im so thrilled it worked out that everyone could make it.

So....there was....Ian and I...Brent and Alex and Anna-Bella.....Mitch and Briony.....Dad and Mum.....Grandma Lorna..... James...Kelly....Brock.....Kurt...Lachlan and Evie.....and David...Jo....Jack...Cooper and Charlie... all the 11 Grandkids (counting Bella-bub) together....and with Grandma Lorna...Dad....Me...Brent and Anna-Bella...we even had 5 generations together.

When we arrived we booked into the two 60 minute bus tours..... which were fabulous. The bus was air conditioned...and we had a tour guide telling us all about each animal and how the park has grown as we drove .... each paddock that we entered held different animals...and we were able to get up nice and close.

I was so cranky when after 10 minutes I realised I hadnt put the memory card in my camera....so all the photos I was clicking away at....were a waste of time. Thankfully I was able to take some with Brionys little camera...and then at lunch I realised Dads memory card fitted.....so I got a few good shots.

Some of the younger kids had a ride on the camels..... including Briony who rode with Evie.

Gee.....I didnt realise I had so many photos....Ill upload some more in another post...

  1. Isn't Monarto the best place, love that the animals are not cooped up in little cages. Must have been lovely to have your whole family there.
    cheers.

  2. Wow, fantastic photos Mardi! That zoo sounds wonderful! I wonder if it's like Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo. I went there when I was about 12 (I still remember the elephant doing a ginormous wee that was like a flood!).
