Im back...

15 September 2009

Sometimes I seriously could question my intelligence..... I actually believed that this surgery was going to be a walk in the park.
I mean...it was 'precautionary /elective'.....doesn't 'elective' mean its close to painless?
I completely understand that emergency surgery is painful and there is a recovery period....but when you are fit.... have been working hard at the gym....and have 'made a choice' to have the surgery then it just MUST be easier.... well apparently NOT!
I can only say it knocked me for six..... and I'm still recovering now...two weeks later.
Ive had a little hiccup .... an infection..... that yucky temperature...freezing cold...shivering under a blanket... aching all over kind of infection....
For a while there I actually regretted the decision... I think the temperature fried my marbles and I lost touch with the big picture.... but I know Ill look back and be so thankful its all behind me....and so glad that I went ahead with this decision.

I actually feel a little less foggy today.....so I'm hoping that I'm on the up and up.
Thanks for all the comments and well wishes.... emails.....they have been very appreciated...

    hi miss mardi
im glad youre on the road to recovery now :) have been wondering how things were going...
i totally get the brain fried thing- i had a terrible infection after the ceasar i had with chloe- it was truly horrible- and (same ceasar) which was an emergency- i can remember that after the doctor decided to go in to surgery, i couldnt work out why the labour pains didnt stop as soon as he said we were having the ceasar- my brain was like, well, it should stop now, im going to have a needle-why do i still feel pain- so i totally get the comment you made about elective surgery not being painful.....brains are funny things !!!!!!
take it really easy, im sure you have lots of people looking after you :)
    xx

  9. I'm glad you're home. And I'm glad you're recovering. I'm so sorry to hear that it hit you harder than you had anticipated. Take it slowly and let everyone be nice to you, and do things for you :). I hope this is but a distant memory soon.
