Brionys quilt..

23 May 2010

Well at looooong last I finished this quilt..... Sadly I was never in love with it.... I think that's part of the reason it took so long to finish...

But now that its done..... it does look kind of fresh.....and pretty in her room..... and considering its made entirely from scraps it was also very thrifty to make.

Maybe it will grow on me in days to come....

I love this gorgeous crochet rug I picked up for Briony at the 'Oppie' ... it was an absolute bargain at $5.00...especially seeing as its single bed size and echos all the colours of her quilt.

  1. Mardi I love square in a square quilts. I wanna make one in blue's and browns for my 23y/o son. Briony's quilt looks gorgeous. You've done a good job. Good on you for finishing it. Now treat yourself to sewing something fun. Maybe a quilt for Brooke. xx Sue

  3. It is adorable Mardi as is the crochet blanket. We have loads of crochet 'granma' blankets as we call them. Stuarts granma would send us some every year but sadly she is too old to crochet anymore. They are definately our favourite blankies though.

The quilt looks great Mardi, and the crocheted rug goes with it beautifully, $5 for the perfect accessory and practical too, now that is a bargain.

  6. I don't know what you are talking about Mardi, I love the quilt ... it's so pretty and fresh ... I love all the different fabrics, definitely has an ecclectic feel ... the crochet blanket is super sweet, can't believe you scored it for $5, makes me wonder what I am doing crocheting every night!?!

  7. Oh Mardi I love it! I can't believe it's just made from scraps! I love Briony's bed too. Is it an old iron bed that's been powdercoated? That's what Tassy's is and the finish looks very similar. And I LOVE Tassy's bed!

And WOW the rug! What a bargain and it's just gorgeous!!! That is such a great find.
