This was our Christmas 2009....

29 December 2009

***Warning - photo overload (and most of them bad photos too....oh well) ******

Christmas crept up fast this year.....I have no idea why.....but I just wasn't ready.....Ive never been less prepared I don't think.... it all became stressful toward the end... well... up until I made the decision that what wasn't achieved just never would be.

There were some real highlights this year... like our bus trip over to Loxton to the Christmas lights.... Dad , Mum and Grandma Lorna arriving to spend it with us..... and beautiful Bella who just started to 'get it' this year....

There were also a couple of hiccups..... like a dash to Adelaide on the 24th back to the Plastics clinic with a little complication (thanks Mitch for keeping me company and driving most of the way home)...

So here is a rather pictorial look at our Christmas.....

The tree was elevated to the table this year....we kinda thought it looked nice with decorations on it....and as it was.... the lower branches were picked bare.... bless Bella...although she did eventually tire of the baubles and moved on to the presents..... she wouldn't tear the paper.... she would just chew on it with her brand new razor sharp teeth.

Dad, Mum and Grandma Lorna arrived on the 23rd to spend Christmas with us.... Brent and Grandma are very close.....Brent used to holiday with her as a child.... just like I did.
..they are peas in a pod....

On the evening of the 24th we headed out to the Cobdogla club for tea.... its become a little tradition of ours... they run such a wonderful family night....with games....ticket draws and the highlight is when Santa arrives for the kids...

Bella got her very first chuppa chup taking part in spin the bottle with Auntie Briony.... she was immediately smitten....and her and her VERY sticky lolly pop were close friends from then on...

This was Bella's second year meeting Santa.... last year she was just 3 months old...
This year she wasn't too sure..... she checked him out for awhile... staring...with her little brow all furrowed....
Then she made a decision that he was just too big...and too hairy...and no matter how lovely he sounded...she wasn't comfortable....

So she opted out....

Then the big kids got a turn.....

Christmas morning was lovely and relaxing...Brent, Alex and Bella stayed over on Christmas Eve so that we were all together bright and early in the morning.... I'm pretty sure even Bella knew it was a special day....

Breakfast over... and still in our Jammies..... it was time for some gifts..... Bella watched patiently while Auntie Briony helped her with her first present.... then before long she had the hang of it....and enjoyed some unwrapping herself...

Captured this shot of Grandma and Dad...a bit of peace amongst the racket.

Ohh and I had a laugh over the weekend.... all the times I have been mocked by this pair....for apparently tackily dressing them identically over their childhood years.... only to see them dressed identically more than once over Christmas .... all of their own doing...

The aftermath....

Then it was time to prepare our delicious hot lunch...... Mum began on the Turkey stuffing nice and early....

Briony and Alex tried out some new wii games....
Then before long it was lunch.....and we were blessed with a beautiful day to sit outdoors.... around our brand new extra large recycled timber table.... built by my very clever hubby...

A few silly shots.... Granny and Mitch....

...and these...
So that about sums us up....
We ate too much..... drank too much.....and had a very lazy time......with family and friends..

    Hi Mardi

Long time - no chat. I've been very very slack the last few months, not reading or leaving comments on friends blogs - opps sorry! Just been way too busy this year working and trying to spend more time off the net instead of on it.

I just wanted to stop by and say hi and let you know I was thinking of you all. Hope you had a great family Christmas (looks like it from the blog photos). Now that I'm on holidays from work for the next few weeks I will make time to catch up on all your news and keep in touch more often.

Wishing you all and fantastic New Year filled with good health, laughter, happiness and success. Take care and keep smiling. Lots of love from Susan (smiles1965) from Scrapboxx.com
