Far out...
I knew it was coming ...
But...typical....I thought Id sort it later...
So this morning I jumped on to try and move my google reader blogs to another site...
only to find they are all deleted...
I was ...ONE....day too late!!
Grrr....
So.... what are my options?
Who is using what?
Bloglovin?
Google+ ?
I would love some suggestions..
I am not a facebook fan...
so....some would argue 'old fashioned' ..
Blogs.... are MY thing...
Obviously I will need to begin my collection all over again....
So sad...
Silly me...
I don't understand the blog reader, or any of them for that matter. I have a blog list on the side of my blog and it shows me which ones have been updated, and I add all of the ones I want to read there. I find it quite easy to use, and to add to or remove blogs from. Good luck with your quest. I love blogs too, although I spend too much time of FB aswell. Crazy amount of wasted time. Oh well!! xx
ReplyDeleteActually that's not a bad idea... I just want somewhere were I have all my faves in one place. I loved reader before because I could categorise them into lists...like friends...craft...crochet etc.
DeleteBut really thats not important....I just want to be able to find them all easily.
Thanks so much for the suggestion...M x
You could do different lists aswell I presume. I have them all jumbled now but I did start a food list, kids list, you should be able to customise how you like and have a few different lists....
ReplyDeleteYeah....I know what you mean about the jumble... my bloglines was a little like that in the end....I had all the categories...then a big long list at the bottom of all the ones I never categorised...lol
DeleteI still love blogs too, but notice a lot is going on FB. I've gone to Bloglovin, it has all the different categories with daily updates. Good luck with something that suits your style.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula....I have a feeling Bloglovin might be a good way to go.
DeleteOh nO :( Im using bloglovin and love it you can make lists on there too. It also has a find friends part where you might be able to find some of the ones you lost from google reader.
ReplyDeleteAhhh... that's a good feature...a find friends option will be handy....seeing as Im starting form scratch...grrr.
DeleteThanks for that info Lisa

Yep. Bloglovin here too. I hope you find what suits you best Mardi..x
ReplyDeleteThanks Leanne...x
DeleteI moved over to Feedly and use the app to read on iPad. i had some initial transferring issues but got it done just in time.
ReplyDeleteThis could be a new spring clean of blogs for you, pain to have to rebuild but am sure tastes evolve with time (mine certainly do!)
Feedly....I hadnt heard of that...thanks so much for the suggestion.
DeleteI think looking at it as a spring clean is a good idea...in honesty it probably needed one.. Its just that it took years to gather them all together.
I am using Feedly too and so far very happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie.... I am off to check out what Feedly has to offer..
DeleteOh no! I use Bloglovin and a while ago i added the blogs i wanted to read into my side bar on my blog. I do, however, need to update them and purge from my bookmarks :)
ReplyDeleteIt was my own fault....leaving it too long...but still so annoying. I have opened a Bloglovin account....so Ive begun the long process of linking them all again....I guess it was a good chance for a clean out though.
DeleteFeedly has been the way to go for me (I get your blog on feedly now) but am glad I did it before the deadline because it did it all for me, too easy. Some of the full RSS feeds wont go on it though, good luck with what you do, Jo
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a lot of Feedly users....I am just kicking myself I missed the deadline....all my own fault...grrrr
DeleteI am trialling bloglovin..... I am still not 100% happy...but I guess Im still learning how it works...so Ill give it a little longer.
Thanks for the headsup about Feedly..

I use Feedly and am liking it so far. I got my mum onto Bloglovin - its simplicity is best for her. Feedly would have been a technomalogical nightmare for her ;)
ReplyDeleteMm....that technological nightmare is what worried me about Feedly...others said it wasnt as easy to set up as Bloglovin....but I am finding bloglovin a little limiting....so I am not sold on my choice just yet. Thanks for adding your experience...
