Relay for life...

2 October 2011

Every year I say "never again!"
I usually utter this over and over between 2 - 5 am....
I tell myself that its not fun anymore...
and that next year Ill just donate and leave the painful bit up to someone else.

But...
Its like childbirth...you forget the pain...
and when Relay time comes around.....I cant help myself...
I'm like an eager child with a question in class....
"Pick me....pick me".....I want to do it again!

The pain of the previous years fades.....but chance to be able to participate in something that is so worthwhile just grows stronger.

It it a time to reflect....be grateful....and also extremely thankful that I'm here....and able to walk at all.

Its such a small sacrifice....
and there are so many that would give anything to be able to participate...but cant.

This year I have a couple of special people in my thoughts...
and this walk (for me) is for them.

I've included the official information and the link for donations below....
any donations....even tiny ones would be much appreciated.

I'm participating in the Relay For Life 2011.

Relay For Life is an overnight, community event where teams of 10-15 keep a baton moving in a relay-style walk or run to raise funds for Cancer Council SA. The event brings the whole community together for a night of fun, entertainment, celebration and remembrance.

Every dollar raised at Relay For Life helps Cancer Council to:
•  Investigate new ways to prevent, detect and treat cancers
•  Educate people in your community about ways they can reduce their cancer risk
•  Advocate for cancer control
•  Support people during their times of greatest need.

You can help support me by making a secure online donation using your credit card. Click on the link below:
