Easter always means camping...
There may have been a few years we didn't camp at Easter....but I cant recall them.
This year both Ian and I were working...
but it didn't stop us getting one night of camping in.
We gatecrashed Brent and Alex and their friends Tony and Emma...
(as well as Briony and Jarrad)
and spent a night sitting by the campfire....sleeping in the camper...as well as enjoying the excitement of Easter morning and the egg hunt.
This year they had set up camp not far from home...
with the Murray cliffs as a back drop... and the river was flat with barely a current.
They set up their rods...and by the time we arrived....the 'fish off' was in full swing.
Easter bunny found the kids..
and it was barely daylight when I heard squeals of excitement...
and foil wrappers tearing..
I think Brayden may have just discovered his most favourite time of the year.
(If you don't like kids with dirty faces...please look away now)
I really love that time of the morning when you can sit back with a cuppa...
and just relax...
I am not sure where they fitted their pancakes for breakfast after the amount of chocolate they had eaten...
but they found a spot...
Bella very generously handed out her eggs to make sure everyone had one...
she wouldn't take no for an answer either...she wanted everyone to share in her luck.
Brookey took a liking to Emmas Easter hat..
apparently this hat is cool enough to keep on your head.
Little bubba Jaxon had nice quiet Easter too...
He was all snuggled up and had the cutest little bunny bum.
Check them out...
a couple of scarecrows crafting by the River....
painting their plaster rabbits and colouring in with their new textas.
There is always an upside to dirt...grot and grime while camping...
it must be a huge boost to the immune system...
and who really cares if you miss a couple of days of hair-brushing!
(except maybe Bella who managed to get her mop caught in the zipper of the tent.)
Meanwhile Brayden hung with the boys fishing...
The girls had a special little Easter egg hunt....
there was a lot of area to explore and some of the eggs were in very tricky spots too..
They were very happy with the haul of eggs...
and then it was on to toasting Marshmallows (or Mushrooms as Brookey calls them)
So I think by the time they arrive home tomorrow they will all be in need of a hot bath...
.. and a sugar detox..which means they have a very wonderful Easter.

What a gorgeous camping spot. I love how all the generations get together and just hang out - the grandies have so much love around them :)

DeleteWe are so lucky to have such beautiful camp spots right on our doorstep..its not the beach...but its a close second.
THANK YOU so much for my twiggy die that came in the post last week too...I haven't had a chance to use it yet on a layout....but I did a quick test run and LOVE it. Thank you so very very much for organising it for me....I really appreciate it.

looks like a lot of fum had by all but something I do love is how the girls have a life jacket on.Do they have this on all the time-love dee xx
ReplyDeleteWe had a great Easter Dee... just that one night camping made it feel like Easter for me. Yes the kids do wear their jackets the entire time...its non-negotiable and the jackets go on as soon as they get up in the morning until they are tucked into bed at night. The kids just take it as the norm and never question it. When we are camped so close to the River it just makes it so much safer. Thanks so much for popping in...xx
