TEA TREE Essential Oil... What do I do with it?

7 July 2019

Did you know that Tea Tree has 12 times the antiseptic power of phenol? .. and has been used for centuries by indigenous populations for its antiseptic properties.
Its also great to know that doTERRA Tee Tree is sourced in Australia....because thats where it grows at its optimum quality.

For those who love a bit of science.... like I do....
PubChem - has an extensive lists of clinical studies and conclusions with some pretty impressive results.
Just a few of these of note included -

"In Denmark it has been authorised for disinfection in acne and in fungal infections on the foot (1993-2009). In Sweden TTO is used against itch at mild athlete's foot, for uncomplicated insect bites and for treatment of mild acne, in Hungary for treatment of skin infection, stomatitis, gingivitis, cut wounds, excoriation and acne."

"Clearance of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was also investigated /in/ ...a pilot randomised controlled trial on 30 hospital inpatients aged between 32 and 82 years. Fifteen patients were randomised to the TTO treatment group consisting of 4% TTO nasal ointment and 5% TTO body wash. Fifteen patients were randomised to the standard treatment group consisting of 2% mupirocin nasal ointment and triclosan body wash. The TTO treatment combination appeared to perform better than the standard treatment of mupirocin and triclosan although the difference was not statistically significant."

So lets get PRACTICAL:

I am sure all of us have had a bottle of Tea Tree in our cupboards....I know it has been a staple Essential Oil in our home...long before I had pure doTERRA oils.

If you are anything like me.... it was used for cleaning surfaces and spraying the kids hair before school each morning in an attempt to repel any little critters.

Some of the ways you can use it are -
