My 'Suzie's Sweet Shoppe'

11 June 2009

How amazing is this design..... I just LOVE it....and it was so easy to make too.

Admittedly there were a couple of moments where I needed reminding... that these blocks would eventually all be done....and my affair with the ironing board would eventually be over..
But it was all so totally worth it....and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the end result....

A HUGE Thankyou to my dear friend Janelle ....who invited me to join her as she designed and created this stunning quilt.....Janelle also mentored me via phone and emails.....encouraging me all the way.....
I loved her tip at the very beginning....encouraging me that if I just made a quota of 4 blocks each day.....Id be done in under a week..... that was the incentive I needed....and I made it my mission to create my 4 blocks each day..... and it seemed in no time at all.....it was finished.....and draped over the back of my couch.

So...... its called 'Suzie's Sweet Shoppe' and its just gorgeous. Please check out Janelle's blog post and her beautiful quilt here.....Janelle has also made two of the sweetest little cushions to match....and her entire quilt and cushions are made from a layer cake.

So what do you reckon? ...looks pretty darn snuggly draped over the lounge doesnt it.....oh....and my quilt was made entirely from scraps and fat quarters that I already had in the cupboard (well except for the backing....which fitted from a single width of fabric)... so it was very economical to make too....
Thankyou so much Janelle for allowing me to ride along on the Suzie's Sweet Shoppe journey with you.....I had a ball.

I love that you've been able to make this mainly from scraps and fabric that you already had...I'd love to have a go at this one too... although I think the 'Candy Girl' quilt will keep me occupied for a while! LOL
