a lovely gift from a friend..

17 August 2012

I really wanted to share this beautiful and extremely generous gift that I received from my friend Charmaine for my birthday.
It was so thoughtful and chosen so perfectly.....I felt so very spoilt.
Obviously it had taken some time to put together....a lovely collection of thrifted linens....remnants...and a book....all in colours and styles I adore....wrapped in a beautiful vintage pillowcase.
Thank you so very much......I absolutely LOVED it.

I should also mention that Char came across this pile of fabulous books in her Op shop travels and sent me a text to see if I was interested..... of course I jumped at the chance...so she so very kindly brought me home a  lovely pile of books for the girlies for under $10.00 ...mwah...the girlies and I thank you so much!!

So last week when it was Charmaines birthday I wanted to surprise her with something too....so I made her a cushion using my map design....and some vintage fabrics mixed with some newer fabrics as well.

I was thrilled with how it turned out.....and I hope it will bring some happiness to a spot in Chars home too.

Turned out pretty cute Hey!

Love the Aussie cushion you made for your friend, too. Very inspirational.... they would be nice to make for overseas family and friends.

Just discovered your beautiful blog! This cushion cover is to die for. I just love anything Australiana....I might have a go making one of these for my couch, though my sewing leaves a lot to be desired.
