If you like a cleaner with more of a paste texture then you may prefer the soft scrub.
SOFT SCRUB
¾ Cup baking soda¼ Cup castile soap (I use unscented)
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon vinegar
5-10 drops of lemon or wild orange essential oil.
Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth paste. You can use this paste to clean all areas you would normally use a creamy cleaner... great for the bath...sinks and tiles.
My thoughts on cleaners -
- I want our home to be free of toxins and synthetic fragrances.
- I want my products to be simple and effective.
- I want to know whats IN my products.... rather than have an ingredients list like this one ...
- Jif Cream Liquid Cleanser -Calcium carbonate, water, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium carbonate, c9-c11 pareth-6, sodium cocoate, sodium bicarbonate, disodium distyrylbiphenyl disulphonate, 1,2 benzisothiazoline-3(2h)-one, perfume.
- I don't want to look up the 'Material Safety Data Sheet' of my product and see POISON ...and a list of first aid option for 'inhaling' and 'contact' ... especially when its a product that leaves residue that may easily contact the skin of our family (including young ones)
- I just want to know that I am doing the best I can ... and that our bodies are not being bombarded by unnecessary chemicals when simple things work just as well.
