I didnt pay much attention for awhile... but then I started noticing lots of mentions in the sewing community of the 'Bestie Bag' (a pattern by Blackbird Fabrics) .. and I knew I wanted to make one.
My first version was from a brown corduroy..probably a bit wintery looking for the height of summer...but Ive used it a ton already. I made the medium size without the pleat.
Pattern: 'Bestie Bag' (a pattern by Blackbird Fabrics)
Fabric Bag one: Brown corduroy $1.50 Op Shop remnant.. lining and zip from my stash.
Fabric Bag two: Green Viscose Slub remnants from some pants I made. I quilted it with cotton wadding from my stash. The lining was a beautiful vintage cotton in the sweetest print. I only had a small piece so it was nice to put it to good use. I purchased the zip from Spotlight... which was the only outlay for this bag.
Notes: I really enjoyed making these bags.... the pattern and instructions are well written and it all comes together beautifully.
I have loved wearing and using them too.... they sling beautifully across the body and hold a lot. I have not been much of a bag wearer in the past.. but I might be changing my mind.
